ROBINS NEST
COUNSELING
CREATING SAFE SPACES TO LAND

MEET AMANDA MARTIN, LPC
Robins Nest Counseling is named after my late father, Pastor Robin Martin of Gainesville, Georgia. I was fortunate to have two childhood heros in my father and my grandfather. My grandfather was a generous man that taught me how important it is to take care of family. He embodied generosity and taught me how important it is to treat every human with love and respect. My father taught me that sitting and shouldering another’s hurt is one of life’s greatest purposes. I witnessed my father and grandfather’s generosity of time, resources, and spirit on a daily basis.
Robin’s Nest was created to be a legacy and a testament to these principles.
Meet Morgan Phillips, M.S.

At Robin's Nest, quality counseling starts with compassionate, educated, and ethical professionals dedicated to mental health.

Morgan has a passion for working with children, adolescents, and young adults to help them gain confidence and acknowledge all they're capabilities.
She primarily focuses on working with those struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, self-esteem, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, and autism spectrum disorder. Additionally, she aims to aid those needing support with executive functioning skills and career development.
She is currently under the direction of Amanda Martin, LPC, CPCS, and under the supervision of Kelley Dodson, LPC, CPCS.
APPROACHES
01
BEHAVIORIAL THERAPY
Solution focused therapy is an alternative to traditional therapeutic models which tend to focus on a client’s history. Solution focused therapy looks forward to what life would be like without current symptoms or behaviors that are no longer beneficial to the client. The client can set reasonable goals and is able to regain hope and confidence in their life.
02
COGNITIVE BEHAVIORIAL
Thoughts influence the creation of one’s brain chemistry. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy helps the client to identify thoughts that are not based in reality, solution, or kindness. The client learns to identify cognitive distortions and the brain can have a snowball effect of healing as new neural pathways are created in the brain.
ECLECTIC
03
This is where creativity comes alive. Eclectic therapy is just what the name implies: Eclectic! Do you like painting? Let’s do it in session! Do you like taking a walk? Let’s walk and talk! Puzzles? Take your pick! This is almost always used in Robin’s nest adolescent or child sessions to build rapport, but adults also need to play!
04
PERSON-CENTERED
Person-centered is incorporated into every session at Robin’s Nest. Person centered counseling recognizes each client’s innate ability to access their healthy decision making instinct to make a life that works for them. Person- centered therapy is warm, inviting, and non-judgemental. All persons are welcomed, affirmed, and respected at Robin’s Nest.
05
STRENGTH-BASED
Strength based therapy recognizes the innate strengths each human can access. Through self awareness and examining former difficulties that clients have overcome in the past one may come to realize positive characteristics otherwise left unrecognized. This modality of therapy creates a solid foundation of hope and perseverance.
06
MOTIVATIONAL INTERVIEWING
Motivational interviewing highlights the space between desired life outcomes and one’s current behavior. Specific and measurable goals can be set within therapy. Motivational interviewing can ignite a hope and belief that change is possible.
